Head Pro: Norm (Stormin') Jackson Stormin' Norm Jackson joined the Cowichan Golf and Country Club in 1990 after serving the Edmonton Golf and Country Club and the Nanaimo Golf Club. An apprentice of the well known golfing character, Bob Kidd, Norm Jackson was named the best pro in British Columbia in 1993 by the BCPGA. Stormin's mandate at the CGCC is as General Manager of the Proshop and repair shop, business administrator and teacher. The club has seen considerable growth through the nineties and early twenty-first century and serves young and old alike in the Cowichan Valley. 1993 Best Pro PGA of BC 1997 BCPGA Merchandizer of the Year 2002 - 2016 Ping Regional Club Fitter of the Year 2009 Head Pro of the Year PGA of BC Awarded Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship PGA of BC’s “Best Golf Shop of the Year 2008” 2010 Ping National Fitter of the Year Norm has tirelessly been involved in Cowichan Valley charities and has MC'ed many events 2016 Scroll of Honour City of Duncan

Meet our Staff

Assistant Pro: Scott Catton

Scott grew up in Newmarket Ontario and during his youth played a variety of sports but skiing was his passion. After graduating in 1985 from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Physical Education Scott started a successful career in commercial real estate. In 1993 Scott moved to Vancouver and started to play golf. He loved the game, worked hard to improve and subsequently decided to become a golf professional. Scott completed the Golf Management program at Camosun College in 1997. While in school he worked at Seymour Golf and Country Club on the north shore of Vancouver. In 2000 Scott joined Norm Jackson's team at the Cowichan Golf Club and became a member of the CPGA in 2002 completing levels 1 thru 4 of the CPGA's teaching certification program. As part of the professional staff of the Cowichan course Scott has helped develop strong programs for juniors and ladies. These programs run throughout the spring and summer. Scott is also available for private, semi-private, corporate, and playing lessons. He is also part of one of the strongest club fitting teams on Vancouver Island and Canada.

Member Rep: Chelsey Sweet-Coulter

Chelsey knew early on that golf was her passion. Storm acknowledged Chelsey's potential and took her under his wing at the age of 13, instructing her on the finer points of the golf industry, "shagging balls and cleaning carts"! Chelsey spent her high school years in Victoria where she was three time Junior Girls Champion at Uplands Golf Club. In 2005 she attended the Professional Golf Management Program at Camosun College, completing two summer co-op terms in Whistler, B.C. at The Fairmont Chateau Golf Club and The Whistler Golf Club. Chelsey re-joined the Cowichan Golf Shop team in 2008 bringing her enthusiasm and love of the game. Chelsey always welcomes the opportunity to take part in Charity Tournaments and Fund Raising events. Chelsey's most recent endeavors include Media and Marketing Manager; including Member Services Rep, focusing on further development of the game, membership sales, social media and website development.

Assistant Pro: Damien McCabe

At the age of 5, Damien was introduced to the game of golf by his father. Establishing himself as a highly competitive player at a young age, Damien has competed at the local, provincial (BCGA), national (RCGA), and international level. A veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) (+29 Year), during his time while not deployed overseas, has competed in many events, he has had the honour of representing the Canadian Armed Forces in the World Military Golf Championship (CISM) held in Sun City South Africa. Upon his retirement from the RCN, he has followed his calling of becoming a professional golfer. Damien inspires to share the love of the game and aid golfers in improving their game and golf experience. In keeping with his competition roots, he continues to play on the Vancouver Island Tour events.

Assistant Pro: Andy Johnson

Andy is an Australian native who now calls Vancouver Island home. Andy played on a number of golf tours around the world including the Canadian tour, Australasian tour, the European, and Nationwide tours. After life on tour he worked for TaylorMade Golf Canada and helped set up the TaylorMade Fitting Centre in Vancouver. His primary role at the fitting centre was to provide custom club fitting for golfers across the lower mainland. Andy then moved to Modern Golf, a club fitting and club building facility, where he managed the new business in Richmond BC. Andy has a passion for helping people play their best golf and enjoying the game. He is a member of the Canadian PGA and working toward his Class A accreditation.
